Happy Thanksgiving Week, Readers!
This Thanksgiving, I am incredibly thankful to have readers like you. Last weekend, I thanked my wonderful Bridesmaids for helping me with wedding and bachelorette party planning by treating them to a fun-filled girls getaway weekend in Napa during Napa Valley Film Fest.
Most of my Bridesmaids and I travel a lot for work or put in long hours, so this was a relaxing and much-needed weekend for the girls.
From wine tasting aboard a limo at some of Napa’s finest wineries, dining at Michelin-star restaurants, relaxing spa treatments, and getting our dose of random celebrity sightings… Everything about our Napa Bridesmaids weekend was absolutely perfect!

For the hotel accommodations, I chose Villagio Inn & Spa right off Washington Street. The hotel is centrally located in Yountville and a short walking distance to some of America’s finest restaurants including Thomas Keller’s French Laundry / Bouchon / Bouchon Bakery / ad hoc, Redd, and Bistro Jeanty. Michael Chiarello’s Bottega is also located on site.
Word on Yountville’s Washington Street is that most of these restaurants fiercely compete against each other for annual Michelin-star ratings… so any restaurant you choose won’t disappoint!
Villagio Inn & Spa offers cool perks such as an amazing complimentary Champagne brunch, afternoon tea, evening wine and cheese reception with live music, heated pool and jacuzzi, and a full service spa. The hotel rooms were spacious and clean with modern amenities. The staff at Villagio Inn & Spa were super friendly and attentive.
Friday evening, my Bridesmaids and I checked into Villagio Inn & Spa and enjoyed the evening wine & cheese reception to kick off the weekend. There was a live pianist and art gallery accompanying the evening reception.
For dinner Friday night, we headed over to Michael Chiarello’s Bottega where the gracious host greeted our group with a warm welcome!
For dinner at Bottega, I chose Black Garlic Spagetti Grande which paired nicely with our Renteria 2008 Pinot Noir.
My Bridesmaids and I had a lovely first night and dinner at Bottega! Not only was the meal and ambiance at Bottega awesome, we spotted bad boy actor Colin Farrell having dinner at the restaurant. Apparently Colin Farrell was also staying at Villagio Inn & Spa for Napa Valley Film Fest. It was an awesome hotel, so I could totally see why he would.
After Hours Limousine Services company owner Oscar Martinez had impeccable and prompt customer service. The pricing was moderate compared to other limo companies, and the white Chrysler 300 C limo was brand spankin’ new with complimentary bottles of champagne. Our driver, Isaiah, was also extremely professional and accommodating which really made our limo ride for the day incredible. And, he didn’t mind that we blasted old school 90′s R&B and hip hop the entire way! (Sippin’ on Zin and Juice.)
My Bridesmaids and I made our first stop at one of my favorite wineries in Napa, Cakebread Cellars.
I have loved this winery for years because they are award-winning yet non-pretentious. Cakebread Cellars is a boutique family-owned winery that has been around in the Napa Valley for 40 years and known for their crisp whites such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. They also have a high-end red called Howell Mountain Dancing Bear Ranch Red Cabernet Sauvignon.
My personal favorites at Cakebread Cellars during this tasting was their 2011 Chardonnay Reserve and 2012 Sauvignon Blanc.
Our lovely Cakebread Cellars tour guide, David, was professional, friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about Cakebread wines, and incredibly generous with his pours.
After having picnic lunch at Oakville Grocery Store and a disappointedly bad customer service experience at Rombauer Wineries, my Bridesmaids and I headed over to the beautiful Spring Mountain Vineyard in St. Helena.
Our Spring Mountain Vineyard tour was led by Sommelier Ish Rivera who was kind and had a laid back demeanor while educating our group about their wines and winery. Spring Mountain Vineyard was breathtakingly beautiful and high up in the mountains!
For dinner Saturday evening, my Bridesmaids and I headed over to Bistro Jeanty, a French bistro in Yountville also conveniently located on Washington Street. We loved the quaint feel of the restaurant and the chill atmosphere.
I tried Bistro Jeanty Epaule de Porc, slow roasted pork shoulder with butternaut squash gratin, brussels sprouts, and lardons. The girls had Sole Meunière, a sole fillet with mashed potatoes and lemon caper butter sauce which was equally delicious.
We paired our meal with Carneros Pinot Noir.
The Bistro Jeanty staff members congratulated our Bridesmaids party with a treat of Creme Brule. I blew the candle out, and made a wish.
The next morning, my Bridesmaids and I enjoyed Villagio Inn & Spa‘s scrumptious Champagne Brunch. Then we ended the day relaxing at the Villagio’s spa getting massages and body wraps.
It was an absolutely perfect Bridesmaids weekend in Napa Valley. I’m thankful for my wonderful Bridesmaids, and I’m thankful to have readers like you.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
